The NZ government has confirmed that facial recognition will be implemented in New Zealand.
There are “risks relating to surveillance and profiling, lack of transparency and control, and accuracy, bias and discrimination” to name a few.
Why would such unprecedented powers undoubtedly be abused?
Because they can (just watch 1984 and read Edward Snowden’s books for perspective).
