I'm going to be a 'Mr state-the-obvious' for a minute...

The way that you attain a large or larger return on your investment is by buying a stock at a time when the stock is undervalued or unrecognised by the market BEFORE a time when the market then values it and places a price tag on it (that is hopefully higher), and before price sensitive info regarding it’s potential or actual value is released.
It is all about timing and when you think information will be announced, and how you think the market will react to it.
