I agree with the sentiment on this thread... however....
There is a chance that this is Robert Friedland's idea to heap on the pressure in the final stages of a deal...
Consider me crazy, but RF holds 15% of CLQ ...he is a master negotiator...The letter was unusual (given the timing), but RF is also weird and has weird and wonderful ways of negotiating...
I think that RF is one of the best (if not the single best) mining entrepreneur on planet Earth for a reason.
His tactics are to create an open-cry auction to get the best price...
