My reading of it is that Romney wants to maintain tax benefits for the wealthy and cut spending on welfare (eg Obamacare) while Obama wants to focus on relief more for the middle class and perhaps stimulate more to get unemployment down.

Otherwise in early 2013 taxes need to be increased and less govt spending. The combination will send the world into a double dip (or is that a triple dip) recession.
If the impass between Congress and the administration continues after the election it will not be good for markets. I am hoping if Obama wins well he might pull enough Democrat congressman in on his coattails but I am not counting on that.
