That's good. So you like to care for the environment too?
I bought a vacant rural block 7 years ago which is now home.
I'm off the power grid with solar and a small generator. I currently grow around 80% of my own food, currently building a dam to supply water to my crops and might throw some crayfish in also. I built my home mostly out of recycled materials. I have a compost toilet and make about 20% of my fuel needs. I'm gradually becoming more self sustained. But with low rainfall my dam would need to have around 3x the capacity to have a reliable source of water. To those thinking about this kind of lifestyle I say it's hard work but rewarding in every way. I chop my firewood in the morning and later fire up the old crown no.2. I recently purchased some old power poles from the council and might use for a new shed. It would't take much for each person to reduce their consumption of power even if it is turning off a light an hour earlier. Every bit helps.
Take care and God bless
