    Thanks Banker, and improving all the time. I can't answer the first question as I don't know. The reduction of pollution from being off the grid vs using solar is close to 100% obviously. As I use a generator sometimes, it drops a little. As for the overall reduction it will be a pleasure to do up some charts for the forum. It's a very interesting subject and worth discussing.

    I agree Banker it doesn't seem feasible on a large scale. Three acres per family for instance would use allot more land than apartments and quarter acre blocks. To answer you question, 3 acres x 6B = 18,000,000,000 (18B) acres. That's 6B individuals, not sure how many families that is. Say 2B families for argument sake. That would be around 6B acres. To put in perspective Aus is just under 2B acres I think?! I think we can all do our bit though unless one wishes to wait of course. I don't have a solution but I'm doing what I believe is right and that's a good thing.
