Agreed I like gold. I like copper too (because I am bullish about the economy and it's called Dr.Copper for a reason). I bought Metals X back in 2012 because I like Tin (pre-alacer gold). - Essentially I like commodities because it's tangible and makes up most of my portfolio next to my Single Malt Whiskey's and my Cohibas'.
I am unsure of your methodology on why the stocks should achieve equilibirum and why you would think that the two stocks are correlated since the demerger is now 8 days old.
Also, it's possible in a real inflationary environment for both to see both Gold and Copper run up together (e.g. 2001 to 2007) - so it doesn't mean one should go up and one should go down.
