Teens charged over alleged convenience store assault - Parramatta Thursday, 16 May 2013 05:56:14 AM
Two 17-year-old boys have been charged following the alleged assault of a teenage boy outside a convenience store in Parramatta overnight.
About 8.30pm, (Wednesday 15 May, 2013), two teenage boys entered the store on Thomas Street and allegedly attempted to steal items from the shelf.
A confrontation occurred between the two teens and the female store owner.
Police were told the owners’ 14-year-old son heard the confrontation and ran to assist his mother and was allegedly assaulted by the two boys.
It will be alleged he was punched in the face a number of times, causing facial injuries and lost teeth.
The 14-year-old was taken to The Children’s’ Hospital at Westmead for treatment.
The two teens ran from the store and were chased a short distance by a neighbour. A Dog Squad officer who was patrolling the area then arrested the pair nearby.
They were taken to Parramatta Police Station..
One of the boys was charged with robbery in company, cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal).
The second 17-year-old was charged with robbery in company and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both were refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today (Thursday 16 May 2013)
