From one of the smartest financial guys Satyajit Das talking about US problems:

"Given 45 per cent of households do not pay tax (because they don't earn enough or through credits and deductions) and 3 per cent of taxpayers contribute around 52 per cent of total tax revenues, a major overhaul of the taxation system would be necessary. Tax reform, especially higher or new taxes, is politically difficult."

The top 3% pay 52% of TOTAL tax revenues.

You dont think this is fair??? I would be targeting the 45% that pay no tax. What policies, or more accurately the elimination of current policies, will assist these people into gainful employment, or even better to start up a business?

If you can view the rich as greedy when the top 3% are paying 52% of all taxes then you must view the bottom 45% as bloody lazy!
