Reports during the recent election suggested that for the tax returns Mitt Romney was happy to divulge he only paid tax at about 14% - this from someone who has money to burn!
Meanwhile the USA's richest are flogging their workshorses; people who can do no more and 45% of whom earn peanuts and live humble lives.
As for cutting spending; did you have in mind denying healthcare to the poor and leaving communities such as New Orleans in tatters following major catastrophe? If not, where would you make those cuts?

Unless the USA takes a long, hard look at itself and cuts the the crap China will become the world's major economic power much earlier than currently predicted - let's hope that'll be a good thing!
In the USA the %^$#% will then really hit the fan as the US tries to come to terms with repayments on all that debt held by the Chinese and without the same control over the world's economic levers.
