I don't think that welfare should be dropped as you do need a certain amount to live on and one of the great things about Australia is that people are supported. That said allot of people on welfare do not know how to manage the money they have. Welfare should be changed such that their rent money is paid directly to their landlords, and the recipients should get vouchers for life's essentials. This way the money is spent where it should be "on survival" and if you want a better life you are more motivated to get a job.
