Yes yes sounds familiar. When I first started at the young age of 18, I threw $10-15K into CNP, CFU and a handful of other spec stocks. Guess how many survived ? 0. 15K lost which was an awful lot of money for me at the time. Had I invested that in a simple LIC or ETF it would have been worth a lot more. I guess my point is, keep it simple and let compounding do its work without trying to get rich overnight.
There are people who study trading and spec stocks for a living. I'm sure they do okay. And then their are the freaks who do well enough to retire before their 29th birthday. Each to their own.
