Still in shock from the FSE ann. re the new/old CFO.

i actually liked PJ idea of self generation of power, but maybe that is not economically viable? the idea of washing out the good stuff and burning the crap left behind to make power is just what Vale are doing in mozambique.


Not wishing to spary urine on anyone's battery, from what i can remember those Exxaro blocks are not exactly the kohinoor diamond. they are close to the major faults that have uplifted basement granite into the coal measures.

In SA the Mines dept, applies a use it or lose it principle with mineral rights, and if exxaro have no immediate (next 15 years) plans then rather dump the crap in favour of something of more likely IRR.
