I find when I visit things like high school art shows and the like or sit and listen to the young - full of hope and sparkle and amazing ideas

(half of which we had a go at already - but, they might find different ways) and the other half of the ideas that the young cells still left in the body begin to get that old excited jiggle going inside (before you tell em to settle down- our time is gone)

anyway - I get two clear and distinct emotions -

1. thank god they are still being born - and, go for it - go hard

2. a deep sadness because I know that they will hit walls - walls made of dead standing pricks - rows and rows of them - the change resistors

and, by god - I know the agony of the day that you realise there's too many of them for many projects

but, - it's a bit different these days - you have a world at the keyboard - so - yeah - the disadvantages are numerous - in that - the ideas are so easily pinched - but, also - the ideas get out there if you want them to.

One thing I invented years ago was for the leisure fishing industry - took it to ? Javis Walker from memory --

not interested ----------- even though I had a working model and it would have been a doddle to manufacture and had ongoing sales ---

another fizzer idea ----------------- but, today - that idea is sold in every tackle shop all over the world

I get a glow out of that ------------- I didn't make a cent out of it - but, I was the first -- and, now ---------- it covers the planet.

I've seen so many ideas that have become a raging success that have been offered on a plate to corporations and they've been shown the door with total disinterest

there's a huge lack of vision out there.

I worked for Wormald International for a while - one day - a bloke came in to see the plumbing state manager - he had an idea - an invention which he had a model of ---

shown the door - no interest - it would never catch on -- bye!!

that idea was the dual flush toilet!

Later in life - personally, I've had many ideas ----------- don't chase em now - no point -------- you know that they'll work - but, you know what's going to happen when you put the leather on the footpath --

if I ever had been in America (which I dearly dislike) - it might have been different - but, I was in Oz

and, Oz is exactly where it deserves to be -

I watch with intense interest what is happening with Quantum computing in Sydney Uni - the partnership with them and Microsoft - could be one of the biggest goers in human history -

will Oz hang in there if it's a winner?????????? we wait
