I have my doubts too aimone. From my time in the middle east I noticed the locals generally (not all) weren't into anything resembling physical effort. They did like to talk about work though....and could talk about it all day.
That said, you never know. My daughter in-law is from Paraquay and migrants from the Middle East there...have actually done ok for the most part. They've pretty much planted themselves into commerce and trading, some farming, some basic manufacturing, and with a fair bit of success....They don't have a lot of them there....but they have mostly done ok. One hitch though...majority of them were Christians....perhaps the work ethic was better developed.
Anyway PNG could be a land of opportunity....look up PNG's recent growth rates....It's not like these fake refugees are doomed....All they have to do is work...and be a bit intelligent about it...
