By all means we must hold the management to account but make sure the accusations of looting the treasury stack up. We must draw the line at outright lies about how RC has been gifted so many options as if they are worth real money. The tone of criticism has shifted so much one gets the impression that the RC and his management are a bunch of scoundrels out to cheat the shareholders. If there is even a bit of truth in that we must sell out before we are stripped of all value.

I think RC and company have made a good effort in building value. It is not their fault that pools of oil are not springing up everywhere. Criticism of headcount, pay and pace of progress may be fair for people who put in the money but are not faced with the frustrations of the daily detail. Which is why SH should usually step back after picking a good chief. Essentially it boils down to do you trust RC or not. He seems to have done a fair job at AKK. Still the rest of the team matter hugely too and there is no such thing as a sure win either with people or with projects.
