I feel like the IGO JV is a form of publicity for the company. Signing an agreement with a highly respected producer is a way of regaining shareholder respect/confidence.
But, like you said, I think it's a short-term 'fix' for the company, and the bigger issue of funding Kat Gap still exists and is not going away soon, or ever..
