The misinformation on the left and the right on this budget has reached a new level.

Lots of changes can be implemented by the Government without the need for any legislation. They are simply done by discontinuing or continuing certain programmes. Other changes are simply administrative rule changes.

You then have those changes that are part of the supply bill which by convention is not blocked.

And finally you have items that require a separate bill (such as the fuel tax)
This is the area were the Senate comes into play
