Perhaps they were always corrupt, devious, unscrupulous, prepared to resort to any lengths. Certainly there were fraudulent elections that got JFK into the White House, but then he was a great president. No doubt about corruption under Clinton. The history of Democrat corruption in Chicago, Boston & elsewhere is legend, so no surprise to see it now.
But a people used to a free and lawful society can only be pushed so far before they push back. We've seen it in Paris about three or four times, and we saw it in Moscow once. And of course we saw it dramatically in Bucharest.
I'm just glad I live here.
