Isn't Mourilyan primarily used for sugar, cattle etc. Havent heard any major ore being shipped out of that port? And then Bauxite is notorious when it comes to its composition it contains aluminum hydroxide, iron oxide, silica etc...With Queensland's annual rainfall and bauxite flowing into the river, ocean during loading, offloading, processing it wont take long before those reefs or other marine around it dies....I dont think DNRM would outright reject the idea but it would be the regulatory clauses which QBL is finding hard to justify economically.
any other plausible causes?
