Not sure of the age of contributers but I am retired with a SMSF.
I hold IFL for dividend yield as I am at stage I need income to pay bills.
I know 3 friends who contribute to super and about to retire.
They plan to leave their money in their fund and draw an allocated pension.
They are workers who leave their money with a professional service.

I also have friend who is with Hub24. (Net inflow +$4.8b)
His statement showed all his money were in ETF's.
All his money was in USA. Probably better growth than Oz but little dividend and pretty expensive with forward PE'S @ 26X EARNINGS.
I maybe wrong but I prefer better service from financial adviser like IOOF or MLC. i WANT TO BUY COMPANIES and support jobs in Australia.

These platforms are cheap but with less service.

All traditional super companies are stressed probably from Royal Commission into finance which has done a lot of damage to banks. Who now are called on to support economy in this time of pandemic.
MLC has problems as their outflow was -$4.0b so this take over will cement both companies future.
This deal has still to be approved by APRA so more hurdles to worry about.
The future will see more take overs / more amalgamations.
Banks will attend to their core lending and super will in time grow into a powerful Industry.

I did not take part in Capital raisings but did buy a little under 6000 new shares to add to my existing holding and will hold.
