As for the media beat up i think it is real, no one deny there is a crises, but they highlight any potential bad news, and delay the good ones.

one news site I found reasonable and updated regularly was Al Jazeera English version, that was surprising considering it is not a middle east event. they have a live blog with a regularly updated time line.


They talked about the helicopters pouring water down one reactor from air before any others mentioned it.

They also highlighted that the word "evacuation" was later corrected by the official as it was lost in translation.
The reactor workers were rather housed temporarily in a shelter close to the reactor when the radiation reading went up today.

How many news organization CNN, BBC. Reuters.. and others pointed to the evacuation as major setback etc. but never bothered to correct that later?
