Bentley's teased us creditors with a potential interim payout. But word on the street is that the paperwork submitted by Jenny Hutson's Wellington Capital is not in sufficient order for us to get such a payment. Seems to be yet another black mark against Hutson's name.
In last year's Momcilovic decision the High Court's Heydon J wrote about Human Rights at para 453: "The odour of human rights sanctity is sweet and addictive. It is a comforting drug stronger than poppy or mandragora or all the drowsy syrups of the world. But the effect can only be maintained over time by increasing the strength of the dose. In human rights circles there are no enemies on the left, so to speak."
Hmmm I'm thinking the pursuit of Human Rights may share a similar nature as the pursuit of an ideal Jurisprudence.
