SYDNEY, Australia, 16 June 2006: The Minister for Health and Ageing Tony Abbott MP has announced the appointment of Ventracor Limited Chief Executive Officer, Colin Sutton PhD, to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
Mr Abbott said: “appointment to the NHMRC recognises effort, dedication and expertise.”
“The NHMRC is Australia’s leading expert body promoting the development and maintenance of public and individual health standards.
“Members of the Council help the NHMRC maximise investment in, and drive the social and commercial applications of health and medical research,” Mr Abbott said.
Dr Sutton’s appointment will run for three years from 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2009.
