Selling the business at this time and at this share price - even with a fat premium on today's share price - would be a terrible outcome!
It would be an admission of a business in deep trouble with bleak prospects. I hope it doesn't come to that, but I guess anything is possible.
I don't see how this information being in the press really helps anybody though. The only people that would stand to achieve a good outcome from a quick sale would be shareholders that have entered at the current low prices. With such low volumes traded, I would venture that there wouldn't be that many of them out there.
If planting a story in the press to prop up the share price was part of a strategy, then it seems to have failed based on the current share price as of writing.
