The chemistry of DRI is very simple. The difficulty is in the engineering of the processes to make it work on a commercial scale and economically. There must be more than one way to skin a cat. I think this is not a patent issue but rather an issue of who is more efficient.

If APG had not let so much time elapsed in building this demo plant, the plant would be running for a while now and most likely would have other bigger plants built under licence and APG would have a lot more knowledge and experience by now to make it more efficient and effective than anybody else.

Perhaps in business, timing is just as, if not more important than knowledge and wisdom. You just have to be in the right place at the right time.

I still think that if those almighty greats like BHP, Bluescope and Kronos would be interested in APG's technology and were serious about it, there has got to be something in it that should not be underestimated. It is not knowledge and wisdom but timing that has been holding back this little gem all these years.

Wonder how the funding deal is progressing. In this case, no news is just as bad as bad news. I hope with this final push, APG will cross the line and start a new chapter. Once the technology is proven, what we need will be a deal maker. Perhaps MT may retire in glory and I hope that the board will be sensible enough to get a deal maker instead of an engineer.

So far the APG book is like:
Chapter 1 - Looking for gold.
Chapter 2 - Disappointment led to opportunities.
Chapter 3 - From gold diggers to engineers.
Chapter 4 - Struggle for survival.
Chapter 5 - Trial and error.
Chapter 6 - Where are the bloody valves?
    Chapter 7 - Plant construction.

I sure hope the next chapter is Commercialisation instead of going back to Chapter 1.
