Its very hard to time it right, especially when you are trading - you would need to devote a lot of time and you have monitor it constantly.
I prefer to do a lot of research on the company, invest and then just let management manage the company (especially where risks have been massively de-risked, like CVN).
Not advice, just my own preference.
Guess everyone have different strategies.
