Actually quite amazing over here. Dog walks by 5 , 2 trips to the shopping centre, one trip taking the spouse to a medical appointment , saw one person not doing the mask thing. Talking to people about it, they see it as maybe over the top , but it has almost become a mark of politeness, a sign of solidarity with the rest of society . So , I think you are on the money, we do care, and we wish to be seen as caring. That sense of society and " team work" is probably the government's most important achievement , and has made it much easier for them to manage the pandemic. I will be interested to see whether that feeling persists post pandemic.
