Well yeah, all the graph shows is that Taiwan had a head start. I think that 2020 was the first year since their democratisation that Taiwans economy grew faster than China’s.
I think you’ll find that democracy isn’t linked to growth in any verifiable way.
Sure, there are other very meaningful benefits, but economic growth isn’t really one of them.
