    Western Australia to invest Rs3000 Cr in mining in AP

    Government of Andhra Pradesh and Western Australia state today finalised on number of partnerships in areas of education, mining, geology, road safety and professional cooperation.

    Deputy Premier of Western Australia Roger Cook met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati and both of them announced formalisation of number of partnerships.

    The AP government and Western Australia signed a sister state agreement in December 2016 to work together in various fields.

    The two leaders agreed to finalise arrangements of collaboration in mining, industry regulation and safety supplying technical assistance to AP department of Mines and Geology to support geological mapping.

    The Western Australia is going to invest RS 3000 crore in mining sector in AP.Speaking to media persons, Mr Naidu said that the Western Australia would extend technical support in mining and several other sectors.

    He said that there would be staff exchange programme between AP Economic Development Board and West Australia in Tourism, science and innovation.

    Mr Naidu said that the two states are looking forward to sign a MoU between NG Ranga Agricultural University and University of Western Australia for research and teaching collaboration in fields of dry land agriculture after receiving necessary approval from Central government.

    He said the state government and Western Australia company, the KSI global company, would enter into MoU under which unique roller safety barriers would be trialled on a notorious black spot on Tirupati ghat roads.

    Speaking on the occasion Western Australia Deputy Premier Roger Cook said ''I look forward to grow our presence in India especially the new sister state agreement with Andhra Pradesh.

    Western Australia's total trade with India was valued at 2.4 billion dollars in 2016-17 with gold and copper products among the top exports.

    WA companies are already active in AP with NSL consolidated operating and expanding a low grade iron ore mining and Geomysore services (India) soon to commence gold mining operations in Kurnool district.''UNI DP RSA 2215"
