CommSec hasn't failed me like this, but I got sick of their brokerage ripping me off so opened a SelfWealth account and transferred all holdings over.
This created a new HIN which was a minor short-term pain put well worth it as now every Australian trade is only $9.50.
By creating a new HIN rather than transferring the old HIN over means my ComMSec account is still active and I use it for research, watchlists and alerts. It's the best of both worlds and gets away from the 'big' 4.
