There are claims that Steven Gregg has started reaching around for a replacement for the embattled and failing CEO Anthony Miller. Paul Thwaite, the NatWest Group CEO, has been mentioned but why would Paul take over the position of Westpac that Anthony Miller has run into the ground.
The NIM was quite good for Westpac and the accounting/ capital metrics are sound, one thing that Peter King did do well, perhaps the only thing, but an Anthony Miller demise relief rally is now what is needed.
They need to junk Project Unite which could be the most unsuccessful project in Australian corporate history.
