What will the compliance be like if WBC moves from financing fossil fuel projects to renewable energy/ low carbon emission projects? Will they finance the right ones?
Who will check whether the low carbon emission projects meet the regulations?
Also, potential for money laundering to seep into renewable energy. The current allegations of fraud surrounding Australia’s historically most significant renewable energy mine, Ranger, in the Northern Territory where the people recognized as land holders might not actually be the rightful landholders to the First Nations people of the area is the largest case in point.
