More correct to say, the banking sector, especially the majors, are very resilient. Agree with your post per se, these are selling type levels for the big banks but are currently unstoppable. Remember, adverse financial events are not forecast, but often occur from otherwise simple or routine events. For example, the GFC originated from an overseas investment bank or such, downgraded, and writing down the value of their CDO holdings (rated AAA+) purchased from those mega USA banks at the time. That prompted every other holder to do the same.
