    yes, lets not live in the past I think WBC has "pulled their socks up" quite a bit over recent years......their metrics have improved out of sight in the last 2 years...to wit, ROE has been climbing, currently to ~9.8% albeit not as good as CBA at ~12.5%.
    Very strong capital position with CET 1 at 12.5% (despite increasing dividends and buybacks) while CBA not as good at 11.8%.
    Witness the total return (over rolling 12 months up to last night) for WBC of 54%....CBA 48%....NAB 32%...ANZ 21.5%

    If we look at total returns over the last 3 years, we have (pa) WBC at 22.3%...CBA 20.6%....NAB 15.2%...ANZ 8%

    I think the market has spoken.
