You mentioned WBC fell to sub $20 AUD. Some posters on WBC claim to have bought at sub $20 levels. At the time that would have been a risk like with BOQ as companies like Crown, Star, and PayPal have had enormous problems down in Australia with money laundering and needed more liquidity, cash and even in Crown’s case a bailout from a private equity firm.
Under Four Pillars Policy down in Australia, WBC can not be bought by a foreign bank so WBC would have to be bought out if the money laundering scandal(s) ever get too great.
