Decidied to post this as a new thread.I was in Westport last week as part of a tour of the country.I decided to go to Westport as I have been interested in investing in Bathurst.I saw and photographed their office and the port area.I spoke to fishermen and some locals and they all seem excited about it all, although some frustration in lack of progress was evident. They all seemed aware of the reason. My concern is the port, which is rather primitive and appears unsuited for any sizeable shipping. There was a small freighter there unloading bulk cement and an old coal loader on the dock.I would imagine that the port will have to be extensively redeveloped. This will take time and a lot of money.Does anyone have any info on what is planned with this. In its present state the port would be a major bottleneck. The main street of the town runs parralel to the river/port , not leaving much room for storage etc.I intend investing in Bathurst, hence my visit to the area.
