Kieran O’Brien

Executive Director – European Business Development



Mr O’Brien is a former Managing Director of ESB (Ireland’s Electricity Supply Board) National Grid and served as a member of the Executive Management Group of ESB for more than 15 years.

He has been responsible for long term strategic planning in ESB and for relations with the Irish Government and European Union in the fuel and utility sector.

Mr O’Brien was Acting Secretary General of the World Energy Council (WEC) from 2008-2009 and served two three year terms as a member of the Officer’s Council of the WEC.

His international power industry experience extends to Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and North America.
