Back in the day, kids learnt their A B C's from a "Blackboard" because that was what it was. Over the years that word came to be seen as inappropriate and became "Chalkboard". Fair enough I spose. Over even more years, technology has made the Chalkboard redundant so kids now learn their A B C's from.....wait for it.... a "Whiteboard" which at this stage, doesn't look like ever being seen as inappropriate. Go figure.
