I've been following the progress of CYP for some time and having just read your post feel inclined to respond;
Silviu has said often that scale up is not a problem and MSB's manufacturing technology allows it to be able to meet any demand.
MSB's IP protection is very extensive indeed and has been gathered as a result of considerable scientific and technological work over a very long period. It will be impossible in my view for CYP to be able to navigate this "minefield".
MSB is about 11 years ahead of CYP so their chances of gaining any significant meaningful clinical data are in my view poor. This considerable period of time - as the pathfinder for this new technology - has been very well spent. The IP and scientific knowhow accumulated is the necessary foundation for the massive growth ahead for Mesoblast.
CYP's re-programming process and high replicative cycles within their manufacturing bring with it a theoretical risk of cancer formation.
