I would try it. I ate Dugong once, killed by the traditional landowners up in Arnhem land, very tasty & a bit like veal but looked like a steak. Deer or venison is really nice flavour but some cuts are damm tough same as other red meats. Buffalo is also good, camel is ok but can be tough also if you get the wrong cut. Wombat is very good & tastes nothing like pig but more like lamb. Crocodile is crap, tastes like nothing really certainly not like chicken anyway. Even ate one of Kerry Packers cows from Avergen station over on the vic highway in the west once but I think that was a road kill & was tuffer than Kerry. Kangaroo is great but gamey if its not cleaned up properly before cookin. Anything that eats grass or swims is fair game for a snack I reckon.
