The main importance of the NPFin relation to copper exploration in the KCB is that higher grade mineralisation is often found close just above this prospective (Ngwako Pan Formation) layer. This can be at shallow depth or deeper depending on which exact point the anticlinal dome structures are drilled.
These are the XRF results from NCP07 which are a good example of increasing Cu mineralisation close to the NPF, which is at about 260m in this particular case. Note the useful vein structures under the NPF.
