BIT225 doesn't have resistance. HIV may never develop resistance to BIT225.Some other drugs do. The other drugs target one coreceptor.
BIT225 works differently in a novel way.
That is just one of many reasons why BIT225 will be fastracked.
We do not know of any long term side effects yet from BIT225.
It has only undergone 9 successful trials.
But we do know it eradicates HIV as opposed to just suppressing it.
It may be used to prevent things such as AIDS related dementia etc.
BIT225 is likely to lead to significant beneficial outcomes for HIV sufferers.
It will be part of the cure.
