"Wayne has already stated that the 15% rule in OZ doesn't allow the coy to raise enough capital in one go and that is why I think the cap raise is not going to happen here." . There's something not quite right about WP's comments here which lead me to believe this comment is an off the cuff statement and is probably more a reflection of his views on the lack of support from Australian investment community. As i understand it, ASX companies can raise 15% plus 10% depending on shareholder approval (so 25%). Is he hoping to raise another 25% on Nasdaq ? more?.. hopefully not more dilution than 25%... (and no, i'm not bagging WP for those wishing to jump on me). I would think that any listing/raising on Nasdaq that exceeded those % values would probably require some 'waiver' (or rule) from ASX. Therefore if AVR really wanted to raise a lot on ASX they could basically make it happen, but would require ASX waiver and shareholder approval (which is likely going to be needed anyway). Basically, we are going to Nasdaq, not because of ASX rules but because the pool of money is bigger and to some degree, US investors are prepared to ascribe a higher PE/other metric to companies like AVR (which Australian investors are clearly not doing).
