In short, bad deal making and high-cost ageing mines, affected by the epic post Covid inflation of input costs into mining, alternative periods of droughts and floods impacting mine production, a bit of terrible management on the side and a market that remains unconvinced that current management can deliver long term profits even if the price of metals go to the moon. A lot of moving parts, a lot of risk and depletion of a lot of orebodies for almost zero returns for shareholders would be my summary.
