Wrt the disadvantages of:
lower power in (charging) which sometimes mean loss of energy capture from solar panels;
lower power out which could mean power draw from grid or unpredictable results in an off grid system; and
the requirement to completely discharge flow batteries for scrubbing meaning no power...
Is it practical to connect a Li Ion into a battery system that also contains Redflow battery(s) to solve these problems? That is: allow the Li Ion to take excess power as well as the discharge when the flow battery requires discharge for scrubbing; and also allowing the battery system to supply higher power when required.
Apologies if this has been covered before and if so can anyone point me to a reference (URL) explaining why this cannot be done?
