    Most big projects have multiple partners to share the load because of the costs involved.
    Even then costs always tend to blow out as very few projects are on budget by the time they get to production.
    Its been mentioned Cairn would like to reduce its exposure.
    COP wants out for that very reason.
    WPL on the other hand although smaller than COP have the balance sheet to get it done.
    Would a major be prepared to take out FAR with the hope of increasing its stake further down the line by pre-empting some of a possible Cairn stake?
    That's possible I suppose but FAR IMO would rather sell FAN and SNE to monetise it and keep its other tenements so it can live on.
    Would be very hard to take over the company lock stock and barrel with how the shareholding is structured but selling some assets and still be in the region drilling might be palatable to management.
    May oil and gas companies sink hundreds of millions into projects initially but end up walking away if the price is right.
    The obstacle here is the low oil price.
