RE Post 62281: I'm sorry I was not more clear. All I was trying to say here is Through building a house, it creates employment and stimulates the economy. If I had the money sitting in a deposit account, personally I would rather invest in building a house. Sitting it in a bank, whilst you think it's safe it's really doing the opposite, it's not creating jobs,
I have a lot of money on deposit in Oz. and I hope it's going towards creating a lot of jobs for Aussie's. My bank lends my money - hopefully - to businesses that create export related jobs and not to none producing residential real-estate. It's a global village, if you don't export or pull in money in somehow, you are doomed. Long live the Aussie saver/depositor.
