Firstly, I am aware of and accept the risks whenever investing. In saying that, what a disappointment this LIC has been to date. The overall market has been buoyant in recent times, with most indices displaying significant growth, especially since the election of Trump. Yet, we are now sitting at a 23% loss since this LIC was floated last year, and it only appears to be going further south. The only thing I have taken out of this is to avoid "absolute return" slogans and media identities spruiking funds and stick to passive investment strategies. Yes, I sound bitter, but more so annoyed at how an investment company can perform so poorly in the current market conditions.
