I'd love to be a lot more optimistic about geothermal in Australia but it's hard at the moment. I got out a couple of years ago and am now looking at whether I should get back in. Unfortunately in three years virtually nothing has happened with any of the geothermals except for GDY drilling. Most of the rest display little enthusiasm for their projects these days and, now that Bertus de Graaf has retired, seem to have given up marketing themselves with any credibility. Most of the MDs are paid far too much for their market caps and cash resources. EHR seems to be trying but I wonder whether their PPA tariff in Argentina will be high enough. PAX is in a really odd situation - an Australian minnow JVing into a huge Indonesian conglomerate which isn't short of cash. KEN taking far too long to get anywhere..
Sorry .. that's a pessimistic rant .. but I feel better now..
